Syihan has over 15 years of experience and has worked in various portfolios in Architecture, Masterplanning and Interior Design.
Syihan is a Professional Architect & Interior Designer, registered with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM). He is also a Corporate Member of the Institute of Architects Malaysia (PAM).
Prior to the establishment of SA-Office, he was with Buro Ole Scheeren in Beijing to co-lead a team delivering a high-profile project in Shanghai.
Syihan has been holding the position of Vice President at Medini Iskandar Malaysia, where he was in-charged overseeing all design matters including masterplanning, placemaking, architecture, interiors and landscape design before moving to Beijing.
In his early years, Syihan was attached to Foster and Partners in London for quite a number of years and he has been involved in numerous cutting-edge schemes and several award winning projects, including Florence High-Speed Train Station Competition in Italy, Masdar City Masterplan and Masdar Institute of Science & Technology in Abu Dhabi.
He then returned to Malaysia and spent significant years at RSP Architects, has taken a leading role in conceptualising, masterplanning and designing several projects. He has also been heavily involved at the very early stage of the super high-rise project, Warisan Merdeka PNB 118 in Kuala Lumpur.
Thereafter Syihan was briefly attached to an international design practice Design Worldwide Partnership as an Associate Design Director, heading the Architecture Studio in Malaysia and Interior Workplace projects. Syihan has been working on several projects in Malaysia and Vietnam.
Syihan received a double Degree in Architecture from University Malaya, School of Architecture. During his studies, Syihan received several prizes including Best Student Award ‘Architecture Department Award’ and Dean’s List for his achievement in the study of architecture.
Syihan is currently serving as a guest faculty design tutor at School of Architecture, University Malaya, and actively contribute his time as a design critic at University Malaya, University College of Technology Sarawak and Taylor’s University Malaysia.
